Naked Mole Rat Tribute

August 4th, 2008 / 1 Comment » / by pookie

SING ALONG…OR DIE.

Yo’, listen up, have a howler from Ron.
‘Naked Mole Rap’ is the name of the song.
Here’s a story in all it’s glory.
Ain’t hidin’ nothin’, you’ll know what the truth is
how Ron met Rufus.

Never heard a cat bark,
Never heard a puppy purr,
My dad’s allergic
to every kind of fur.

So I surfed for hairless pets on the internet,
Saw a jpeg of a pink thing…
Gonna need sunscreen!

Well, I haven’t posted anything today, so I decided to give my fingers some exercise and type about anything that comes to mind…well, my mind…anyhow, I’ve actually drawn a blank since I mentioned that I’m not going to be talking about myself but about things around me…

Some things you just can’t understand…

Some things in the world, never make sense to me. one of these things, are Dubai drivers.

Now before you man your cannon’s people, hear me out.

why does it feel like all the drivers in Dubai are in such a hurry to get somewhere? well, i guess that could be true practically anywhere, but Dubai prides itself in behind a modern city, continuously leading the world in new architecture and technological advances. I mean, we’re going to have rotating buildings for crying out loud. All this just suggests that Dubai’s populace should also be incredibly intelligent and mindful. A closer look, especially in the drivers of Dubai, reveals the not so pleasant truth.

Survivor of the Road to Hana

August 3rd, 2008 / No Comments » / by tina

The other day we took a drive to the town of Hana, wanted to go check out the lava tube there. Picture a road on the side of an island cliff. If you looked at it from above it would look like someone had given a 3 year old a crayon to design the highway. It starts you out telling you that it’s going to be curvy roads for the next 30 miles, believe the sign…it’s NOT kidding!!The first 12 miles took us over an hour to drive, yes, 12 miles in 1 hour.Funny thing is that there are reminder signs along way to remind you that there are curvy roads ahead…really? What was that , that I was just on.

It ain’t the very first post on this website, but it sure as hell won’t be my last!

Isn’t it amazing how you find out about things you’re not supposed to know about in the weirdest ways possible? Its like every time you want to know something about a person, you can’t ask them because you know they wont answer you, but end up finding out anyways in some weird and twisted way. Ex.: I talked to this person, who told me he talked to this person, who told this person…its like okaaaayyy…and then they ask you not to say anything and you end up getting sucked into it without meaning to actually get involved…and of course you have to keep your mouth shut because if you do end up saying anything, you will betray someone in one way or another…

Big bad adventures in Maui

August 2nd, 2008 / No Comments » / by tina

Yesterday started out with a bang, but I won’t go into that part…let’s just say I was already having an ugly day. We go to the Maui Ocean Center…VERY cool place. The sea turtle exhibit is wonderful…but don’t put your finger in there…they really do bite! So, after we enjoy the Ocean Center (fancy name for the Aquarium), we go over to the Pacific Whale Foundation’s store…buy a few things and we leave…go get into our car..and head back to our condo which was about a mile away.

Cuil Isn’t As Cool As Google

August 2nd, 2008 / No Comments » / by nastyrunner

The new search engine www.cuil.com pronouned as ‘cool’ has been formed by an impressive pedigree with its three founders: Tom Costello of IBM’s WebFountain project, plus Anna Patterson and Russell Power of Google’s TeraGoogle project, Google’s massive search index. Cuil also counts former AltaVista founder Louis Monier — who later went to eBay and then Google as part of the team. The interface is okay when compared to the unique interface of google. Moreover, it has alot more functionality as it is claimed by the founders. There are four major areas that Cuil is putting out to distinguish itself from other services. These are:

Life on Maui

July 27th, 2008 / No Comments » / by tina

So, last night I’m driving from Ma’alaea to Lahaina, Maui to see a show. This is a drive that can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 45 minutes…or more..depending on certain factors. Like who is in front of you and how many surfers are out along the way. Being from the mainland the slow paced life takes getting used to. I had a guy in front of me going less than half the speed limit. Hey..I had somewhere to go, things to do, places to be and people to see…he was slowin me down, and I admit I was getting annoyed. Then I see a car with a bumper sticker that says “Slow down, this isn’t the Mainland”. I sort of laugh at first…..then about 2 miles later I hit the area with all the surfers. Guess who was holding up traffic then…that’s right I was. Not bad though….just enough that someone from the Mainland was probably behind me getting as annoyed as I had been just about 10 minutes earlier. On a sunny day the water and the waves along the coast going to Lahaina are amazing. Watching the surfers is fun too, especially when one of them catches a really great wave and rides it for a long time.

Start of the Blog

July 19th, 2008 / 2 Comments » / by nastyrunner

Wow, I was supposed to be starting this blog with reviewing things and I fell sick! So my first thing I would like to talk about being sick and having cold. It is a terrible feeling where my head aches, and I cannot breathe well. And to annoy me more, there are sneezes to accompany it. Sometimes I wonder, why cant we just be immune to all this. It would save us alot of time and energy and make us more productive. Why dont big companies invest in research of such products which will bring us immunity to any sorta diseases. Well, it sure is a stupid and childish thought, and I should do my research, but since I am just talking like a layman, i should be forgiven. Well, so the review for today is, the two products which helped me to recover are Vicks vapor rub and Actifed. They are really nice, and I am not speaking on their behalf. So I would recommend them for cold, sinus and fever. Please do leave your comments. Thanks!

It was a new experience setting up blog. I have been working on setting up a website for the past few months, but no success. It feels good to have a blog set up atleast! lol! Well, I will be taking up anything randomly and will be criticizing it or giving my reviews on it. I mean to hurt no one and would like to specify that this is purely my own view. So, if anyone has a problem with what I write, please do mail me or write a comment, and not sue me! lol
